Active environmental and quality work

CW Lundberg actively works with product development in order to continue to be able to ensure the industry’s requirements, quality and environmental impact. At an early stage in this work, we got in contact with Magnelis®.

To the greatest extent possible, we manufacture our products with automatic tools in which the bending of edges is done by folding instead of through traction. This results in the minimum wear and tear on the material's zinc coating so that the products maintain the high corrosion resistance of the basic material.

Magnelis® at CW Lundberg since 2011

Magnelis® is a steel with an outer layer of zinc, 3.5% aluminium and 3% magnesium. The composition of the outer layer provides a corrosion resistance that is up to 10 times better than for galvanised steel.

Cut edges made of untreated Magnelis® can take on a red rust after a certain amount of time, but the outer layer allows the material to heal on its own and in time it leaves a harmless white rust.

Compared with hot galvanised steel, Magnelis® has a lower environmental impact in that the zinc run-off is 75% slower.

Products made from Magnelis® have a more glistening appearance than those made of hot galvanised steel.

The material manufacturer guarantees Magnelis® corrosivity class C5 for 20 years.

Here at CW Lundberg, we have extensive experience in Magnelis®, as ever since the material was introduced onto the Swedish market in 2011, it has been used in most of our product range.
In 2016, we will be replacing all hot galvanised products with Magnelis®.

Own powder-enamel facility

At CW Lundberg, we enamel all of our products in a modern power enamel. In addition to giving the products a more pleasant appearance and extending their useful life, the enamel makes them more pleasant to handle when installing and using, and it further reduces the effect on the environment.

Enamelling on Magnelis® provides a noticeably improved adhesiveness than does enamelling on hot galvanised steel.

At CW Lundberg, we most enamel our products in dark red, brick red and black. Your choice of RAL colour from our colour chart can be ordered at no extra cost.

When no colour is requested, the products are coated in a protective clear enamel.
